About
Franziskus Pöschl, born in a small rural village in southeast Germany, started making clothes at the age of 12, as a means to escape the small village life and to express her ongoing inner debate about gender and identity. Moving to London in 2017, Franziskus interned for womenswear designer Omer Asim, where she trained in high-end pattern cutting and sewing, and eventually worked as a first assistant to develop the design process and production of collections for Omer's avant-garde brand.
Franziskus maintained this connection with Omer Asim whilst expanding her experiences in the fashion industry. She honed skills in digital pattern cutting, working at Peter Pillotto’s pattern department, and further elaborated her outlook on fashion while participating in the fashion class at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna under the direction of Hussein Chalayan and Grace Wales Bonner. She then obtained a Master of Arts degree from the Royal College of Art, exploring and flourishing her design journey in a precise and technical realm.
Franziskus’s practice culminates in an amalgamation of personal storytelling, analysis of the emotional value materials carry, exceptional craftsmanship, and passion for putting joy into the core of fashion.
